Primary and secondary education
Machilipatnam features a variety of public and private schools offering different curricula, such as CBSE and state board programs. Some of the notable institutions include: 
  • National College
    : Established in 1910, this institution has a strong nationalistic history and was praised by Mahatma Gandhi. It was co-founded by prominent leaders like Koppalli Hanumantha Rao, Mutnuri Krishna Rao, and B. Pattabhi Sitaramayya.
  • Noble College
    : This institution began as a school in 1843, founded by missionary Rev. Robert Turlington Noble, and was once called the “Cambridge of South India”.
    Hindu School
    : First established in 1856 as an Anglo-Vernacular school, it received grants from the Madras government for its operations
  • Other schools: The city also hosts modern and well-regarded schools, such as
